Constituency Report - October 2025
This monthly constituency update complements my weekly Westminster Update, highlighting the great work happening across Stirling and Strathallan.
October has been a busy month of getting out and about across Stirling and Strathallan. From meeting with community groups to hosting surgeries and coffee mornings, I’ve been listening to local concerns and celebrating the fantastic work happening throughout our constituency. Read on for updates from my work across the constituency, the latest local news, and how you can get involved.
I write two regular newsletters: one focused on what’s happening in Parliament and the other covering updates from the constituency, so you can stay informed on the issues that matter both nationally and locally. I hope you find this informative.

☕️Upcoming Coffee Morning Event☕
I hold regular coffee morning events across the constituency. Have a local issue? Come along and let me know what matters to you.
Upcoming Event Details
📅 Date: Saturday, 8th November 2025
📍 Location: Callander
☔️Storm Amy
At the start of the month, Storm Amy swept through Stirling & Strathallan, leaving many without power. It exposed issues with the resilience of our phone network, particularly the impact of BT’s new digital voice system, which left many unable to use their phones during the outage. You can read my full article here.
I’ve raised these concerns with BT and relevant ministers on behalf of constituents.
A heartfelt thank you to the emergency responders who were out in full force during the storm, and to everyone involved in the clean-up and repair efforts. Your dedication is deeply appreciated.
🇯🇵🏴 Remembered: Hiroshima and Nagasaki exhibition
Last month, I met Japanese Ambassador to the UK, Hiroshi Suziki, at the opening of the Remembered: Hiroshima and Nagasaki exhibition at the University of Stirling.
The exhibition is open at Campus Central, Level 3, until 14th November. If you get the chance, I highly recommend paying a visit.
🏠Home Start Stirling
I attended Home Start Stirling’s AGM this month. They’re a fantastic group of volunteers supporting families with young children who are going through stress or crisis. It was a pleasure to meet with them and learn more about their vital work in our communities.
Click here to find out more about their work.
🔃Circular Communities Scotland
I met with Circular Communities Scotland at their offices in Stirling. They represent a network of charities and social enterprises working to advance Scotland’s circular economy. We discussed how I can support their efforts to improve policy around reuse, repair, and recycling in my role at Westminster.
🚲Bikes Without Barriers Open Day
In October, I attended the Bikes Without Barriers Open Day at The Peak in Stirling. Thanks to funding from Tactran and support from partners including Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sports Club, Kinross Trishaws, and Community Cycling Angus, the programme has expanded with 10 new adapted bikes.
These additions make cycling more accessible than ever, opening up opportunities for people of all abilities to get involved.
🛒Supermarket Surgeries
Last month, I held my first two pop-in surgeries at supermarkets in Stirling. It was great to chat with people at the end of their weekly shop about the issues that matter most to them.
I’ll be holding more across Stirling & Strathallan in the coming months. If you see me out and about, please stop for a chat and let me know what’s important to you.
📬Helping Constituents – Casework
In October, my office responded to just under 750 emails and letters, closing 85 individual constituent cases. The top topics were energy, utilities and the environment, and health services and medicine. My priority remains to respond to individual cases first, but please continue to let me know what matters to you by getting in touch.
If you have an issue you would like to raise with me, click here and fill out the form.
Keep updated. I post my activities in Parliament and around the constituency on Facebook. Click here to follow.
That’s all for this month’s constituency roundup. I issue two newsletters: a weekly roundup of what is happening in Westminster when Parliament is sitting, and a monthly roundup of what is happening within the constituency.
In the meantime, you can keep up to date with my activity on social media, and if you need help or advice, contact me here.
Please share this newsletter with anybody in Stirling and Strathallan you think would benefit from keeping up to date with my work representing constituents both at home and in London.
Until next time,
Chris Kane,
MP for Stirling and Strathallan
