Constituency Report - June 2025
This monthly constituency update complements my weekly Westminster Update, highlighting the great work happening across Stirling and Strathallan.
June has been another active month across Stirling and Strathallan, from meeting rural tourism businesses to celebrating community spirit. I visited the Fallin Community Garden to see the incredible work of local volunteers, and joined the Raploch 1st Scouts as young people made their promises at their summer BBQ, and much more. Read on for updates on my work across the constituency this month, including support for local events, youth services, and small businesses, and how you can get in touch or get involved in the campaigns that matter to you.
If you’d like to read more, there are links throughout the newsletter, along with a round-up of the articles, available on the news section of my website
I write two regular newsletters: one focused on what’s happening in Parliament and the other covering updates from the constituency, so you can stay informed on the issues that matter both nationally and locally. I hope you find this informative.
Chris Kane, MP for Stirling and Strathallan
Supporting Business - Rural Tour

At the beginning of the month, I attended a tour of rural hospitality & tourism businesses across Stirling and Strathallan, alongside Cllr Gerry McGarvey and representatives from Stirling Council. Organised by Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Destination Group (NPDG).
From Balmaha to Tyndrum, we had the opportunity to meet with owners and speak with them firsthand about the challenges of running a rural business. We spoke about various issues, such as the lack of housing and transport infrastructure in rural areas.
Visiting Communities - Fallin Community Garden
I visited the Fallin Community Garden this month. Through Fallin Community Voice and a group of dedicated volunteers, they have managed to bring to life a thriving community space. I was delighted to come and check it out.
Supporting Local Events - Doune Gala Day
Last Saturday, I attended the Doune Gala Day. I was delighted to see just how much this community came together for this event, from the school kids getting dressed up in costumes to the pipe band parading the streets. It is becoming more important to keep this sense of community alive, so a big thanks to the Doune Gala Committee for continuing to organise this annual event, and I can’t wait to come back. Watch my video from the day below:
Supporting Youth Services - Raploch 1st Scouts
Last week, I was invited along to witness the Beavers and Cubs of Raploch 1st Scout Group make their promises at their summer barbecue. The group has had remarkable success in the six years since it was established. From becoming the Provost’s Charity of the Year in 2022, to having 15 nationalities represented in their group, it has become a real force for good for the young people in their community. I was delighted to attend and hand out the Scout scarves for those making their promises.

Helping Constituents – Casework
In June, my office responded to over 1,400 emails and letters, closing over 150 constituent cases. The top topics included international affairs, health services and rural affairs. While my priority remains helping those with individual cases first, my team and I are working to respond to policy questions more quickly. Thank you for your patience —your concerns matter, and I appreciate your engagement.
Keep updated. I post my activities in Parliament and around the constituency on Facebook. Click here to follow.
In the News
The news section of my website is a great way to keep up to date on the issues I’ve been campaigning on recently. In the last month, you can read:
Long-Term Funding for Youth Services – I called for long-term funding for Youth Services, during a parliamentry debate, including a recent example of its importance, the Dunblane & Doune Cricket Festival
The Spending Review - I took a look at how the recent spending review brings investment to Scotland and what this will mean to people in Stirling and Strathallan
Warm Homes Discount - I looked at the Government announcement that the Warm Homes Discount will be expanded for this coming Winter and how many families it would benefit in Scotland.
Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill - I wrote a blog entry to express my reasoning behind my decision on the vote.
That’s all for this month’s constituency roundup. I issue two newsletters: a weekly roundup of what is happening in Westminster, and a monthly roundup of what is happening within the constituency. The Westminster Report will be out at its usual time this Friday.
Please share this newsletter with anybody in Stirling and Strathallan you think would benefit from keeping up to date with my work representing constituents both at home and in London.
Until next time,
Chris Kane,
MP for Stirling and Strathallan
